Senior Software Engineer Dublin

MongoDB is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Education AI Team. Our team works on the cutting edge of modern generative AI technology to understand and empower builders that use AI. Our work is used both internally and externally by thousands of learners and builders.

We own and operate the system that powers MongoDB’s AI Assistant, which supports natural language Q&A as well as agentic tasks in MongoDB’s products including Atlas, Compass, technical documentation, and more. We also analyze usage and accuracy across internal and external AI systems to ensure that MongoDB developers have access to correct information wherever they are.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Dublin for our hybrid working model.

• Has built and shipped a modern agentic application
  
• Understands foundational technologies like LLMs and search
  
• Is proficient in modern AI engineering practices like context engineering (chain-of-thought, few shot, etc.), evaluation, and retrieval-augmented generation
  
• Has a deep understanding of TypeScript
  
• Can write, discuss, and review code in a collaborative way
  
• Understands how to make resilient, scalable, and maintainable software
  
• Has at least 5 years of experience as a software engineer

• Build new features for the MongoDB Assistant
  
• Orchestrate the integration of the MongoDB Assistant into MongoDB’s products
  
• Create and maintain robust evaluation suites for key MongoDB topic areas
  
• Analyze user behavior and model performance to identify knowledge gaps
