This is an opportunity to join one of Ireland’s top M&E contractors, delivering complex energy and power infrastructure projects nationwide. The business has built a strong reputation across electricity generation, transmission and distribution, supporting the country’s transition to renewable and low carbon energy.

With a growing portfolio across grid infrastructure, substations, renewable energy and utilities, they are expanding their electrical engineering team to support major projects in power systems, HV and MV substations, grid connections and energy transition technologies.

As an Electrical Engineer within the energy and power division, you will play a key role in the design, coordination and delivery of high voltage and medium voltage electrical infrastructure projects across Ireland.

You will work on projects spanning electricity generation, renewable energy developments such as wind, solar and battery storage, and transmission and distribution networks. This role offers strong exposure to grid connection works, substation design, power system studies and electrical infrastructure upgrades, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest technical standards.

• Support the design and delivery of HV and MV substations and grid infrastructure projects
• Coordinate electrical design for power generation, renewable energy and distribution systems
• Assist with grid connection applications and liaise with utilities and network operators
• Review and interpret single line diagrams, protection schemes and technical specifications
• Work closely with project managers, site teams and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution
• Monitor compliance with electrical standards, safety regulations and client requirements
• Support commissioning activities for substations, switchgear and power systems
• Prepare technical reports, documentation and progress updates for internal and external stakeholders

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• 5 plus years’ experience in power systems, utilities, substations or renewable energy projects
• Strong understanding of HV and MV systems, grid infrastructure and electrical distribution design
• Experience working with electricity generation, transmission or distribution companies advantageous
• Familiar with grid connections, protection systems and energy transition technologies
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
• Detail focused with a strong commitment to safety, quality and programme delivery
