Job Summary The Cybersecurity Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer is a key player in the customer engagement process, providing technical consultation to both customers and internal sales teams. This role is vital in designing, positioning, and clearly articulating cybersecurity solutions that support customer business objectives in modern enterprise, hybrid, and cloud settings. The right candidate will possess a deep technical understanding and be skilled at translating complex security concepts into tangible business outcomes. This remote position may involve occasional visits to the Austin, Texas office based on business needs. Role Description Conduct technical discovery sessions to identify customer business goals, security challenges, and technology environments.
Evaluate customer security architectures to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for enhancement.
Understand both IT and OT security landscapes and create high-level architectures, solution proposals, and supporting documentation.
Design and recommend scalable cybersecurity solutions tailored to customer requirements and best practices.
Present security solutions, value propositions, and competitive differentiators to both technical and executive stakeholders.
Facilitate product demonstrations, whiteboard sessions, and technical briefings.
Work collaboratively with technology partners and vendors to validate and refine proposed solutions.
Support pre-sales proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives to validate technical fit and business value.
Provide technical training and enablement focused on security for internal sales teams.
Ensure seamless transition to post-sales teams after opportunity closure.

Skill Level Requirements Intermediate knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, HITRUST, CIS, etc.
Strong understanding of identity governance and security, including DLP, CASB, SWG, DSPM, USB control, file encryption, and ransomware recovery solutions.
Effective communication skills for selling complex technical solutions by understanding customer needs and articulating the value.
Familiarity with mainstream technologies including Proofpoint, Mimecast, Abnormal, Rubrik, Varonis, Sentra, Cohesity, etc.
Other Requirements 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, pre-sales engineering, or solutions architecture.
Broad understanding of enterprise IT and OT environments, covering on-prem, cloud, and hybrid architectures.
Strong knowledge of cybersecurity domains such as identity, network security, endpoint protection, data protection, and security operations.
Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, CIS, HITRUST).
Experience supporting sales teams in VAR, systems integrator, or technology provider settings.
Outstanding presentation skills for live and virtual demonstrations.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Meticulous attention to detail, organization, and follow-up.
Initiative to research, learn, and solve problems with a collaborative mindset.
Exceptional relationship-building skills and a passion for technology.
Strong documentation capabilities, including designing system and network diagrams and customer-facing presentations.
Preferred Certifications CISSP, CCSP, CISM, SSCP.
Relevant Industrial or OEM Cybersecurity Technical or Professional certifications.
Relevant vendor or OEM cybersecurity technical or professional certifications.
The estimated annual salary range for this position is $120,000 - $230,000, which includes base salary and bonus. Compensation is based on individual qualifications, including knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. Benefits may include medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
