Director of DevOps

My client is seeking a highly experienced Director of DevOps to lead and own the development and operations strategy across our technology organization. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong background in both software development and operational excellence, capable of driving efficiency, scalability, and innovation across the engineering teams.

• Provide strategic leadership and ownership for the company’s DevOps and platform engineering strategy.
  
• Lead and mentor a high-performing DevOps, SRE, and cloud infrastructure team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  
• Drive the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and cloud-native infrastructure.
  
• Oversee production reliability, monitoring, and incident management processes to ensure high availability and performance of fintech platforms.
  
• Collaborate closely with engineering, security, and product teams to align operational practices with business goals and regulatory requirements.
  
• Develop and enforce best practices for infrastructure, deployment, and operational workflows.
  
• Lead capacity planning, system architecture reviews, and performance optimization initiatives.
  
• Own budgetary and resource planning for the DevOps and operations teams.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in software development, DevOps, or operations roles, with at least 5 years in leadership positions.
  
• Proven track record of building and leading high-performing DevOps or platform engineering teams in a fintech or regulated environment.
  
• Deep expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
  
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation, monitoring, and incident response frameworks.
  
• Experience managing large-scale, secure, and highly available financial systems.
  
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  
• Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to make strategic decisions in fast-paced environments.

• Experience with financial regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, ISO27001).
