TECHNICAL ARCHITECT (FINANCE IT) – Location: Dublin 2 (hybrid) • Contract: 6 months initially with view to extension • Salary/Daily rate: Competitive package


ROLE OVERVIEW


You will join the Finance IT Dublin team which is part of Finance IT EMEA team under Information Technology & Security Department (ITSD). Finance IT delivers IT solutions and services to all EMEA legal entities and branches. The Book Of Work comprises strategic platform architecture and regulatory initiatives. This is a Technical Architect role within the Information Technology Security Department (ITSD) workstream to deliver rollout of the EMEA e-invoicing VAT regulatory program using a SAAS vendor product called Pagero. The Technical Architect is responsible for defining and assuring an end-to-end technical architecture for an e-invoicing and VAT SaaS solution, ensuring secure, scalable and compliant integration with enterprise finance and ERP systems. The role provides architectural leadership across vendor solutions, internal platforms and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Solution Architecture & Design

    • Define end-to-end architecture for the e-invoicing/VAT SaaS implementation, covering application, integration, data and security layers.
    • Evaluate and challenge vendor solution designs against our client's enterprise architecture standards by doing vendor cloud assessment.
    • Produce architecture artefacts (logical, physical, integration, data flow diagrams).
    • Ensure architectural decisions support scalability, resilience and regulatory compliance.

  • SaaS Vendor & Integration Architecture

    • Act as the technical authority interfacing with e-invoicing SaaS vendor.
    • Design and assure integrations between SaaS platforms and ERP/Finance systems - Oracle ERP).
    • Define API, messaging and data exchange patterns (REST, event-based, batch where required).
    • Review and ratify vendor technical documentation and implementation approaches with our client's design authority.
    • Design auditability, traceability and data retention in line with VAT and compliance requirements.
    • Regulatory compliance.

  • Security, Data & Non Functional Requirements

    • Ensure solution meets security, data protection and privacy standards (e.g., encryption, access controls, data residency).
    • Define non-functional requirements including performance, availability, scalability and monitoring.
    • Support security and architecture assurance reviews.

  • Delivery & Governance Support

    • Provide architectural oversight during build, test and deployment phases.
    • Support Technology Delivery Managers and engineering teams with design decisions and issue resolution.
    • Participate and contribute in architecture governance forums and design forums.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven Expertise: Proven experience as a Technical / Solution Architect delivering enterprise SaaS solutions.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong experience designing integrations between SaaS platforms and ERP / Finance systems.
    • Solid understanding of API-led and event-driven architecture.
    • Experience working with third party vendors and challenging designs. Able to balance vendor capabilities with enterprise standards.

  • Communication: Excellent documentation and communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project/time management abilities.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience delivering either e-invoicing and/or VAT compliance, Tax reporting or Financial regulatory technology solutions.
  • Experience working in regulated or multi-country environments.

Education & Qualification

  • Ideally a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or Mathematics or equivalent practical experience.
