About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, regardless of location or background. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As an NPI Technical Program Manager, you will be the primary technical Operations/Supply Chain interface to the product development and execution teams with the responsibility for driving design readiness and new product development. You will lead your programs through the product life-cycle, ensure execution enablement, and provide smooth transitions to downstream partner teams. You are well versed in the Contract Manufacturing (CM)/ Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) manufacturing environments, product design/development, and will lead a team of professionals to ensure products are designed and built to Google standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large, complex, cross-functional programs through the Product Life-cycle, ensuring supply chain and design partner team deliverables are met in order to support critical program milestones.
  • Support on-boarding and qualification of N+1 suppliers through leading design reviews, specification C/D/Es, product statement of work (SOWs), and engineers of record alignment.
  • Ensure product designs are complete, accurate, and provided on schedule to enable a smooth transition to the execution team for on-time manufacturing and delivery.
  • Act as first level escalation point where partner team deliverables are not being met. Communicate program risks to leadership while providing mitigation recommendations.
  • Manage First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) ramp readiness with internal teams as well as external partners (i.e., material availability, cost/assembly/test/bill of materials/capacity readiness and transition plans).
