Position Overview

As a Technical Program Manager you will coordinate Axelera’s European consortium‑funded research and development programmes, especially automotive projects. You’ll integrate funded deliverables with internal work, represent Axelera to consortium partners, and ensure alignment between internal activities and programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage milestones, deliverables, and reporting for multiple consortium‑funded programmes.
  • Coordinate with Hardware and Software Program Managers to integrate deliverables into internal roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with engineering leaders on architecture, silicon, software, and systems teams to define and track program‑specific tasks.
  • Represent Axelera to consortium partners, project coordinators and external stakeholders.
  • Provide regular written and verbal progress updates, including reports and technical summaries.
  • Attend consortium meetings, steering committees and partner discussions across Europe.
  • Track programme status, risks and dependencies, escalating issues as required.
  • Engage external suppliers and partners to align on deliverables and timelines.
  • Maintain programme documentation, governance frameworks and communication channels.
  • Gather technical inputs across teams without duplicating existing planning efforts.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of technical or project/programme management experience in a technology‑focused organisation, preferably semiconductor, automotive or AI.
  • Knowledge of automotive development processes, supply chains and industry standards.
  • Experience managing European research or development programmes (e.g. Horizon Europe, ECSEL, national funding programmes) with multi‑partner consortia.
  • Strong technical literacy in AI accelerators, SoC, functional safety and software lifecycles.
  • Ability to represent the organisation in multi‑stakeholder environments and build credibility.
  • Experience coordinating through influence across matrixed organisations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English, with capability to prepare formal reports and presentations.
  • Self‑directed, proactive and able to drive resolution in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Meticulous attention to milestone tracking, reporting and deliverable quality.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within Europe for consortium meetings and partner events.

Location & Working Arrangements

Flexible: you may work from an Axelera AI office in Leuven (Belgium), Amsterdam or Eindhoven (Netherlands), Zurich (Switzerland), Florence or Milan (Italy) or Bristol (UK); or work remotely from any European country (incl. the UK). Priority will be given to candidates interested in Italy and Germany.
