Senior Embedded Linux Engineer

Our client is seeking a Senior Embedded Linux Engineer to lead the design and delivery of O-RAN compliant server and client solutions for next-generation 5G Radio Unit (O-RU) products.

This is a hands‑on technical leadership role with significant influence over architecture, standards compliance, and customer‑facing integration. You will play a critical role in shaping OAM strategy, driving software quality, and delivering high‑performance solutions deployed in live 5G networks.

You will own key aspects of O‑RAN functionality and OAM architecture, working closely with cross‑functional teams and external partners to deliver carrier‑grade embedded solutions.

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of O‑RAN functionality for 5G O‑RU products
  
• Own and drive OAM architecture aligned with 3GPP and O‑RAN standards
  
• Act as subject matter expert for OAM across internal teams and customer engagements
  
• Define and enforce coding standards, software quality, and CI/CD best practices
  
• Lead technical collaboration in joint development and integration programs
  
• Support system integration, validation, and end‑to‑end performance optimisation
  
• Debug and resolve complex software and system‑level issues across lab and live deployments
  
• Contribute to intellectual property development and product innovation
  
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across cross‑functional teams
  

• 
  
• 5+ years’ experience in embedded Linux software development
  
• 2+ years’ experience working on 5G NR systems (gNB and/or O‑RU)
  
• Strong expertise in OAM software for 4G/5G systems
  
• Deep understanding of 3GPP and O‑RAN OAM specifications
  
• Experience implementing NETCONF and YANG data models
  
• Strong C/C++ development skills in embedded environments
  
• Experience with protocol stack development and system integration
  
• Knowledge of automated unit, integration, and system testing frameworks
  
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers and partners
  
• Proven ability to lead technically while remaining hands‑on
