I am currently recruiting for a Senior Scientist to join a pioneering biotech company based in Ireland.
This role is a central part of a major European research initiative focused on developing next-generation treatments for lung cancer and chronic respiratory diseases (including CF and COPD). It’s a great opportunity for a researcher who wants to stay hands‑on in the lab while also managing high‑level projects and external collaborations.
The Essentials
- Education: PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular/Cellular Biology or a relevant life science.
- Cell Biology: Extensive experience with stem cells and advanced cell culture (primary and immortalized).
- Engineering: Hands‑on experience with cell transfection and transduction techniques.
- Molecular Analysis: Proficient in gene and miRNA PCR.
- Communication: A strong record of publishing in peer‑reviewed journals and the ability to present complex data to external partners.
Highly Valued (Desirable)
- Extracellular Vesicles (EVs)- specifically isolation and characterization.
- Industry or research background in gene therapy, oncology, or respiratory medicine.
- Experience with ddPCR or in vivo models.
The Role
This is a "high-ownership" position in a start‑up environment. You will be responsible for planning day‑to‑day research, developing SOPs, and assisting with grant applications and partner negotiations. We are looking for someone who is motivated by scientific rigour and can drive a project to completion.
Location: Ireland (On‑site, state‑of‑the‑art lab).
