The Role

They are looking for an experienced Mortgage Underwriter to join their growing team. In this role, you will conduct detailed credit analysis and support the underwriting of mortgage applications that align with the company’s credit policy. Your contribution will be key in delivering fast, accurate, and customer-focused lending decisions.

Key ResponsibilitiesCredit Assessment
  • Review and analyse the creditworthiness and risk of mortgage applications, ensuring strict compliance with credit policies and processes.
  • Maintain accuracy and completeness of all data throughout the credit assessment process.
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Exercise Delegated Credit Authority responsibly while adhering to company policies.
  • Ensure operational and regulatory compliance in all underwriting activities.
  • Stay proactive in applying and updating credit policies.
Customer Service
  • Deliver outstanding service to both customers and internal teams.
  • Offer flexible yet commercially sound underwriting that aligns with lending guidelines.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Quality and accuracy of credit assessments and decisions.
  • Compliance with service-level agreements and internal policies.
  • Adherence to operational and regulatory standards.
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ Mortgage Underwriting experience (essential)
  • Approved Product Advisor (APA) certification (essential).
  • Degree in Business, Finance, or equivalent field.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Proficient in credit assessment, with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Analytical thinking and sound judgment in decision-making.
