Your Role

As a Tutor, you will play a vital role in enhancing the educational experience of our students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the improvement of wellbeing, readiness for learning, resilience, and behaviour management.
  • Collaborating with the Education Team to help students overcome barriers to learning.
  • Promoting positive learning behaviours and leading classes during PPA and absence cover.
  • Delivering engaging enrichment activities during 'Golden Time'.
  • Providing in-class support for academic, pastoral, emotional, or behavioural needs.
  • Responding to immediate concerns and resolving situations effectively.
  • Creating and collating lesson information and interventions.
  • Assisting in preparing information for pupil-related meetings.
  • Acting as an advocate for our school ethos.
  • Leading on Reading and Phonics, tracking student progress.
  • Developing the Pupil Voice initiative and liaising with the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Building relationships with parents/carers and supporting transitions.
What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., HLTA).
  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
  • The confidence to take on additional responsibilities in specific areas (e.g., Food Hygiene, Forest School, etc.).
  • Experience in behaviour management techniques.
  • A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
