Seeking a detail-oriented Order Picker to join our team in Washington, D.C. As an Order Picker, you will be instrumental in accurately fulfilling customer orders by selecting the correct items from our warehouse inventory. This role requires precision, speed, and a keen eye for detail. You will utilize handheld scanners and order sheets to navigate the warehouse and locate products. Ensuring the correct quantity and type of item is picked is critical to our customer satisfaction. We are committed to providing a safe working environment, and all employees are expected to adhere to safety guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting techniques. This position offers a great opportunity to be part of a fast-paced logistics operation. You will work closely with other team members to ensure that orders are picked, packed, and ready for shipment in a timely manner. Maintaining an organized workspace and contributing to overall warehouse efficiency are key aspects of this role. We offer comprehensive training to ensure you have the skills needed for success.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from warehouse shelves according to order tickets.
- Use handheld scanners to track inventory and update order status.
- Verify product information and quantities before moving to the packing station.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety rules and procedures, including proper lifting and use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory checks and cycle counts as needed.
- Contribute to team goals for order fulfillment accuracy and speed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an order picker or in a warehouse setting is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Basic reading and comprehension skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of warehouse safety practices and willingness to use PPE.
- Familiarity with logistics operations is a plus.
