We are looking for a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our Atlanta, Georgia warehouse team. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be at the forefront of our outbound logistics, ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring that all packages meet shipping requirements. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our logistics network and customer satisfaction. A strong commitment to safety, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate and verify shipping labels and documentation for all outgoing orders.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Inspect outgoing shipments for accuracy, quality, and proper packaging.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the shipping log.
- Communicate with internal departments (e.g., fulfillment, customer service) regarding shipment status.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and carrier requirements.
- Operate shipping equipment, such as scales and printers.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety protocols, including appropriate PPE usage and safe lifting practices.
- Assist with receiving and put-away tasks as needed to support overall warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related administrative role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common carrier platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and safety procedures.
- Capacity for some lifting and moving of packages.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
