We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Technician to join our advanced facility in Portland, Oregon. This role is crucial for maintaining the operational integrity and efficiency of our warehouse equipment and systems. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various warehouse machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity. Your technical expertise will directly support our logistics operations, ensuring the smooth flow of goods through our facility. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of warehouse technology. A commitment to safety is paramount, and you will be expected to adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE, and ensure equipment is maintained to safety standards. The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks is essential. Experience with conveyor systems, automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), and other warehouse automation is highly desirable. Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on warehouse equipment, including conveyors, lifts, and automated systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Install new equipment and ensure proper integration with existing systems.
- Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and minimize operational disruptions.
- Conduct safety checks on all machinery and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and the correct use of PPE.
- Collaborate with operations teams to identify potential equipment improvements.
- Manage inventory of spare parts and consumables.
- Assist in training other staff on basic equipment operation and care.
- Support overall logistics and operational efficiency through reliable equipment performance.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Technician or in a similar maintenance role.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with warehouse automation systems (conveyors, AS/RS, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
