Join our bustling warehouse facility in Chicago, Illinois as a Forklift Operator. We are looking for a motivated individual to skillfully maneuver forklifts and manage the movement of goods throughout our distribution center. This position plays a vital role in our daily logistics operations, ensuring timely and accurate handling of inventory. The successful candidate will conduct thorough pre-shift inspections of equipment, report any mechanical issues, and operate machinery safely. Responsibilities include receiving and dispatching goods, and maintaining meticulous records of inventory. A strong emphasis on safety and compliance is expected.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload shipments efficiently and accurately.
- Transport materials to designated storage areas or production lines.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts and report any defects.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workspace, adhering to strict safety standards.
- Follow all guidelines for the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts.
- Support overall logistics operations through diligent work and teamwork.
- Conduct manual lifting of items when required, up to 50 lbs.
- Contribute to a culture of safety awareness and proactive hazard identification.
Qualifications:
At least 1 year of proven experience as a forklift operator with valid certification. Demonstrated ability to handle a variety of forklift equipment. Comprehensive knowledge of warehouse safety protocols. Capable of frequent lifting and moving of objects. High level of accuracy and keen observational skills. Must thrive in a demanding logistics setting. A dedication to safety is non-negotiable.
