Your core responsibilities will include meticulously verifying order details, selecting the correct packaging, applying labels, preparing necessary shipping documents, and coordinating with freight carriers to ensure timely departures. This role is critical for maintaining customer satisfaction and ensuring the integrity of our logistics operations. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to guarantee that every shipment is accurate and dispatched on schedule. Responsibilities:
- Accurately check orders against shipping lists and confirm product details.
- Select appropriate packing materials and ensure goods are securely packaged for transit.
- Apply correct shipping labels and any required hazmat or special handling labels.
- Generate and maintain shipping documentation, including manifests and Bills of Lading.
- Coordinate with common carriers and couriers for shipment pickups and delivery schedules.
- Maintain a tidy and safe shipping dock area, following all established safety guidelines.
- Process outgoing shipments in the company's shipping software or system.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse team members and carrier representatives.
- Perform inventory checks in the shipping area as needed.
- Ensure adherence to all transportation regulations and company policies, including proper use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping clerk or similar logistics role is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS) and LTL freight processes.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in data entry and basic computer applications.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential for this role.
