Join our critical logistics operation in Washington, D.C. as a Shipping Clerk! This role is essential for ensuring that all outgoing orders are accurately processed, packaged, and dispatched to customers. You will be responsible for preparing shipments, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate shipping records. Responsibilities:
- Prepare outgoing shipments by verifying order details, packing items securely, and applying appropriate labels.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for timely pickups and deliveries.
- Generate shipping labels and necessary documentation (e.g., bills of lading).
- Operate shipping software and Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track shipments and update statuses.
- Inspect outgoing packages for accuracy, quality, and proper sealing.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners regarding shipping status.
- Understand and apply Logistics best practices for efficient shipping operations.
- Perform tasks that may involve some moderate Lifting of packages.
- Ensure all shipments meet regulatory and company standards.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with shipping software and carrier portals.
- Experience with WMS and data entry.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure shipment accuracy.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may involve standing, walking, and moderate Lifting.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
