We are hiring an Order Picker for our facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely fulfillment of customer orders. As an Order Picker, you will navigate our warehouse to retrieve specified items, contributing directly to our logistics and customer satisfaction goals. We are looking for individuals who are energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe working environment. This is a hands-on position with opportunities for growth within a dynamic team.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and process picking lists or work orders for customer orders.
- Accurately locate and retrieve items from warehouse shelves and storage locations using a pick list, scanner, or other technology.
- Verify quantities and product information to ensure order accuracy.
- Pack items securely and efficiently into appropriate shipping containers.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and order pickers safely and efficiently (training provided).
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and assist with general warehouse upkeep.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts as needed to ensure stock accuracy.
- Report any inventory discrepancies, damages, or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
- Meet established picking and packing productivity standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as an order picker or in a warehouse/logistics setting is an advantage.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
- Familiarity with RF scanning systems is a plus.
- Understanding of basic warehouse safety and logistics practices.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to wear required PPE at all times.
