Responsibilities:
- Prepare and stage outgoing shipments according to carrier requirements and company standards.
- Verify the accuracy of items being shipped against sales orders and shipping manifests.
- Generate shipping labels and documentation, ensuring all information is correct.
- Operate shipping software and equipment, such as scales and printers.
- Coordinate with carriers for timely pickup of outgoing freight.
- Load trucks safely and efficiently, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing of cargo.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the system accordingly.
- Conduct final quality checks on outgoing shipments to prevent errors.
- Ensure the shipping area is clean, organized, and free of hazards, following all safety protocols.
- Properly utilize all required personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse logistics is preferred.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and experience with shipping software is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety and consistent use of PPE.
