Join our growing logistics team as a Shipping Clerk in Raleigh, North Carolina! In this critical role, you will be the gateway for our products leaving the facility. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipments, processing documentation, and coordinating with carriers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. You will be interacting with drivers, warehouse staff, and management to facilitate the smooth flow of outbound goods. Accuracy, organization, and a strong sense of responsibility are key to success in this position. This role is fundamental to our supply chain, ensuring customer satisfaction through efficient shipping processes. We foster a safe and professional working environment, providing the necessary tools and training.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs forms, with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Verify outbound shipments against orders to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Schedule and coordinate pick-ups with shipping carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, LTL carriers).
- Operate shipping software to generate labels and track shipments.
- Communicate effectively with truck drivers, warehouse personnel, and customer service representatives.
- Maintain organized shipping logs and records for efficient retrieval.
- Ensure all packages are properly labeled and meet carrier requirements.
- Adhere to all company Safety guidelines and procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist in receiving and processing inbound shipments as needed.
- Be mindful of safe Lifting practices when handling packages and materials.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and reliability of our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related administrative role is required. Excellent organizational and data entry skills. Proficiency with shipping software and general computer skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Must be comfortable with some degree of Lifting and standing. A commitment to safety and adherence to all guidelines, including PPE usage, is essential. Understanding of supply chain and logistics operations is a plus.
