*Compensation*
Salary up to $150,000–$160,000 annually depending on experience.
*Job Overview*
This role supports a large-scale on-premises private cloud infrastructure used by global engineering teams to validate hardware and software before product release. The environment operates at significant scale and requires maintaining complex compute systems used for development, testing, and validation.
The position is a permanent onsite role with full benefits.
*Key Responsibilities*
Partner with system architects, hardware engineers, software engineers, QA teams, and platform operations to support development, debugging, and release of new technology products.
Operate and maintain large compute environments including build systems, packaging infrastructure, testing platforms, and core systems.
Maintain system availability targets and participate in incident recovery and troubleshooting.
Deploy and support new systems, infrastructure, and technology bring-ups.
Manage hardware inventory and lifecycle across data centers and engineering labs.
Collect operational metrics and maintain documentation including Standard Operating Procedures.
Maintain an organized and efficient lab and data center environment.
Troubleshoot Linux, Windows, hardware, and infrastructure issues in collaboration with engineering teams.
Support planning, deployment, and operations of private cloud infrastructure alongside datacenter and network engineering teams.
Drive operational improvements that increase reliability, system throughput, and validation accuracy while meeting SLAs and KPIs.
Participate in cross-functional and global operations discussions.
*Required Qualifications*
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of experience working in data centers, infrastructure environments, or engineering labs.
Familiarity with source control tools such as Git or Perforce.
Experience using DCIM tools such as Nautobot.
Scripting experience using shell, Python, or Ansible.
Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, and SSL.
Hands-on experience with Linux, Windows, and macOS environments.
Experience working with system hardware such as PCBs, GPUs, and server deployments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong troubleshooting and collaboration skills.
*Preferred Qualifications*
Experience managing HPC clusters using tools such as Slurm or similar schedulers.
Exposure to OpenStack or other private cloud platforms.
Relevant certifications such as CCNA or similar.
Strong Linux and Windows administration experience.
Understanding of dense data center architecture across compute, storage, and networking.
Experience with virtualization platforms and hypervisors.
Knowledge of data center infrastructure including advanced cooling environments.
Mechanical aptitude and comfort performing hands-on technical work.
Strong ownership mindset with ability to drive work to completion.
*Location*
Onsite role with occasional local travel to nearby data centers in the Santa Clara area.
Pay: $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
