Surgery - General Physician

ATC West is working a hospital in North Dakota is seeking two General Surgeons to provide locum tenens call coverage beginning in December 2025 . This is a flexible opportunity for surgeons looking to provide high-quality care at a Level IV Trauma Center while maintaining control of their schedules. The site will accommodate providers availability for 10 days of call coverage per month and accepts candidates currently holding or in process for IMLC licensure .

• Start Date: December 2025 Ongoing

• Coverage Needed: 10 days per month (call coverage only)

• Call Coverage: 24-hour call; average 3.4 callback hours per day

• Call Response Time: 20 minutes

• Trauma Level: IV

• Facility Size: 25 beds

• Average Daily Census: 15 patients

• Provide 24/7 General Surgery call coverage for 10 days per month

• Manage phone consults, admissions, and rounding on General Surgery patients only

• No clinic or supervision of APPs required (though clinic/surgery schedule details available if needed)

• Anesthesia coverage provided by CRNA group

• Handle scheduled and emergent surgical cases (M F scheduled; emergent 7 days/week, 24/7)

Required Procedures:

• Abdominal surgery

• Endoscopy

• Liver, stomach, gallbladder, appendix, colon, spleen procedures

• Laparoscopy

Preferred (not required):

• Pediatrics, thyroid, pulmonary, vascular

Not required:

• Amputations, C-sections, hysterectomies, or respiratory care
