Residential Childcare Support Worker

Salary:

Unqualified: Base salary of £29,112.72 to £30,008.16 upon successful completion of the probation period.

Qualified Salary: Base salary of £30,641.52

(Qualified Support Worker salary is based on the proven completion of a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent)

Specific Hours: 08:00 am - 20:00 pm (12-hour shifts)

Location: Greater London (Covering Area Camden homes in Camden, Haringey & Islington)

As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in keeping our young people safe and helping them thrive. You’ll be a key figure in bridging the gap between our community and the young people we support, promoting social inclusion and empowering them to reach their full potential.

• Collaborate with your team to create a safe and nurturing environment for young people.
• Provide emotional and social support, fostering meaningful relationships.
• Encourage self-esteem and respect for each young person.
• Support young people in making positive life choices and achieving independence.
• Maintain accurate records of daily and monthly progress, ensuring compliance with child protection standards.
• Assess and respond to the needs of children and young people, contributing to care plans.
• Work closely with managers, health advisors, social workers, and families.
• Assist with daily living needs and engage young people in domestic duties.

• Ability to engage positively with young people.
• Self-motivated with a positive outlook.
• Sensitive and reflective in approach.
• Strong listening and empathy skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in the care sector or residential care is a plus.
• Commitment to undertake a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare.
• Willingness to work some Bank Holidays.

• Minimum average of 168 hours per calendar month.
• Waking Night contracts available.
• Generous annual leave: 236 hours (including bank holidays).
