Data Science plays a vital role in the evolution of Coinbase's products and decision-making processes. We collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to shape the development roadmap and gain insights into our users' behaviors. Our expertise in experimentation, analytics, and advanced modeling drives key insights that directly enhance our company's performance. As a Data Scientist II on the Platform Data Science team, you will tackle significant, cross-functional challenges aimed at making Coinbase safer, more reliable, and user-friendly, while driving growth through improved decision-making and measurement. Example projects include identifying funnel drop-offs and reliability issues in essential user journeys such as onboarding, payments, and authentication, and setting up comprehensive metric systems to facilitate experimentation and causal inference methodologies. Your responsibilities will include: Conducting analyses to answer key questions regarding our products and generating strategic recommendations.
Designing and leading experiments and analyses to measure impact and drive improvements across our products.
Developing and maintaining critical metrics and reports to enhance our data infrastructure for more effective analysis.
We are looking for candidates who possess: A BA/BS in a quantitative field (such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Computer Science) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
A demonstrated ability to drive impact for a digital product with an iterative development approach.
A solid understanding of statistical concepts and practical experience in areas such as A/B testing, causal inference, and machine learning.
Proficiency in performing data analyses using SQL.
Experience in programming and modeling using Python.

The target annual *base *salary for this position ranges between $152,405 and $179,300 USD, depending on your work location. In addition, full-time offers from Coinbase will provide bonus eligibility, equity opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
