Operating Systems Quality Assurance Engineer
to join our team and contribute to the U.S. Department of the Air Force (DAF) Battle Network and its supporting infrastructure. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficiency and compliance of our client's Digital Infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Test team within the Digital Infrastructure Network Integration Lab (DI-NIL) to maintain its architecture and services, including RHEL, Windows, and other systems. This includes compliance configurations, integration with Active Directory, and ongoing management reviews. Manage verification and validation testing for systems entering the production network, ensuring all operating systems meet DoD compliance while optimizing performance. Maintain thorough documentation of builds, configurations, and process flows to ensure tasks are well-documented and reproducible. Engage with customers to assure proper configuration of operating systems and implement least privilege principles during stakeholder activities. Provide backup support to team members focused on the Verification and Validation process for the Digital Infrastructure Network. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or a master's degree with 6+ years of experience. Additional relevant experience may substitute for formal education. Must possess a Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance. Extensive knowledge of operating systems and their application in DoD programs. Experience in design reviews and providing customer-centric feedback. Strong communication skills for collaboration with customers, experts, and engineers on complex DoD systems. Ability to contribute to cross-functional planning and coordination. Work effectively with diverse technical teams. Intermediate networking knowledge and understanding of security testing (ACAS/Nessus) and remediation. Proven ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Preferred Qualifications: Four years of experience in DoD-based security testing and remediation. Previous experience in network design and deployment. Experience with SAFe Agile methodology. Hands-on experience with Agile project execution and tools such as Jira and Confluence. Direct involvement with Department of the Air Force programs. Experience with multi-domain systems. Knowledge in Cloud and Edge Computing, along with networking. Expertise in test automation and result analysis. Demonstrated experience in network topologies to validate system performance and functionality. Experience in integration, testing, verification, and validation processes.
