Summary: Join the innovative team at Reality Labs within Meta as a Machine Learning Research Scientist Manager. We are at the forefront of developing pioneering neuromotor interfaces, building upon cutting-edge research from CTRL-labs. Our goal is to create a practical neural interface leveraging rich, non-invasive neuromotor signals with single motor neuron resolution. This technology aims to revolutionize interactions in virtual and augmented environments, and your expertise can help us shape the future of user experiences. Our multi-disciplinary team is dedicated to understanding human neuromotor signals (such as electromyography or EMG) and utilizing novel machine learning techniques to infer user intent. Help us unlock human potential by bridging the gap between user intent and action. The analysis of EMG signals draws parallels with other neural and audio signals, allowing us to employ various advanced methodologies. We are looking for ambitious individuals eager to explore this exciting territory. Responsibilities: Develop advanced machine learning and signal processing models (including event detection, sequence-to-sequence, signal separation, and time series regression) to enhance neuromotor interface capabilities. Collaborate with engineering and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) teams to implement models that transform scientific knowledge into practical technology and engaging user experiences. Utilize quantitative research methods to define, iterate, and advance key segments of our research agenda. Create high-quality research-grade code for deployment in cutting-edge research prototypes. Work collaboratively across organizational boundaries to tackle significant challenges. Minimum Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in designing, executing, interpreting, and presenting machine learning research outcomes independently. 4+ years of experience in a technical lead role overseeing projects involving 4 or more individuals. 2+ years of direct management experience supervising Researchers or Engineers. Proven experience in analyzing and modeling high-dimensional time series data, including neural, multi-channel audio, multi-modal, multi-sensor signals, and more. Demonstrated experience in transitioning machine learning products from research to production. Strong background in interdisciplinary and cross-functional collaboration. Experience with large-scale cluster computing for machine learning tasks. Proficiency in developing end-to-end ML pipelines encompassing dataset preprocessing, model development, evaluation, and software integration. Software engineering experience in an industry setting. PhD in relevant fields, such as deep learning, artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer science, robotics, computer vision, computational neuroscience, signal processing, or speech technologies. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with real-time signal processing and/or human-computer interaction. Strong quantitative skills and a quick learner of new technical knowledge and skills. Research-driven software engineering proficiency, including familiarity with libraries for scientific computing (e.g., SciPy ecosystem) and machine learning (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, Pandas). Familiarity with scientific communication tools (e.g., Jupyter, Matplotlib). Public Compensation: $184,000/year to $257,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits. Industry:
