As a DS I on the Integrity team, you will leverage data and automation to help Tinder solve impactful product and engineering problems such as understanding the impact of our user facing features, and creating metrics to better quantify the user experience. Our team provides Tinder with quantification and understanding of intent, behavior, value, and the potentially complicated ways in which they all interrelate. You will develop frameworks and models for how data should be leveraged in decision making and be a key stakeholder in delivering quantitative tools. An effective DS I at Tinder must have a passion and aptitude for turning sophisticated problems into concrete hypotheses that can be answered through meticulous data analysis and A/B testing. You must be able to disseminate findings and recommendations to a variety of partners across the organization via presentations, reports, and dashboards. In this role, your insights will influence the performance of our business, the experience of our members, and the direction of analytics at Tinder. This is a hybrid role and requires in-office collaboration two times per week, in LA, SF, or Palo Alto. In this role, you will: Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Policy to support Integrity initiatives through data analysis, experimentation, and measurement. Analyze user behavior related to Integrity and safety initiatives to inform product decisions. Proactively monitor product performance and provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve user experience. Design and analyze experiments or quasi-experiments to test hypotheses and evaluate the impact of Integrity-related features. Develop and maintain dashboards and monitoring tools to track key safety and risk metrics. Produce clear, data-driven insights and recommendations, and communicate findings to cross-functional stakeholders. Support the evolution of metrics and measurement frameworks for Integrity products under guidance from senior team members. Contribute to improving data quality, pipelines, and analytical infrastructure related to trust and safety use cases. You'll need: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a quantitative field, Master's degree or PhD with a social science background preferred. 1-2 years of professional working experience in Data Science and/or analytics preferred. Experience with SQL and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau or Mode) is a plus, not required. Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python or R) and applied statistical methods; experience with A/B testing is a plus. Exposure to causal inference concepts or methods is a plus. Ability to develop a nuanced business understanding, testable hypotheses, and significant findings from data. Eagerness to identify and explore new product opportunities, potential improvements to our data infrastructure, and unanswered questions about member behavior. Comfort using descriptive and inferential statistics. Curiosity of how things work, from both a business and technical perspective. The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $135,000. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary range is reflective of a position based in Los Angeles San Francisco, CA, or Palo Alto, CA. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
