General Summary of Position The NP/PA role includes examination, evaluation, assessment and interpretation of clinical data to provide care for patients with various neuro and orthopedic concerns. Professional practice is in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team. Primary Responsibilities: Interview patients for health history and perform physical examination
Order and evaluate appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests
Document H & P, progress notes, and treatment plans
Act as liaison between patients and physicians to coordinate recommended patient care as well as pre- and post-operative care
Caring for patients in both the clinic and hospital setting
Participate in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement meetings
Other duties as assigned Requirements Education/Training - Master of Science degree or higher, with completion of a Nurse Practitioner Program or Physician Assistant Program
License/Certification - Certified as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant
Orthopedic experience is a plus
Physical/Mental Requirements
Sitting, standing, walking, reaching above shoulder length, working with body bent over at waist, working in kneeling position, crawling, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, working with arms extended at shoulder length, lifting max. of 20 lbs.
