Location: Riverton Hospital
Status: Full-Time
Shift: Rotating schedule (days, evenings, and some Saturdays)
Call: Participation in MRI call rotation required
Pay Range: $38.77 – $59.82 per hour (dependent upon experience)

Job Description Summary

As an MRI Technologist, you are responsible for performing diagnostic MRI procedures in accordance with established protocols while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and image quality. You will utilize your technical expertise and clinical judgment to produce accurate imaging results that directly support diagnosis and treatment decisions.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions
  • Verify patient identification and exam orders; prepare and educate patients for MRI procedures
  • Perform MRI exams per departmental protocols and review images for quality, clarity, and diagnostic accuracy
  • Adhere strictly to MRI safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment
  • Complete studies efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and image quality
  • Assist with training and instruction of students and fellow MRI Technologists, including protocols, positioning, and equipment use
  • Provide compassionate patient care, ensuring comfort and addressing questions or concerns throughout the exam
  • Practice proper infection control and sterile techniques
  • Operate MRI equipment and associated information systems to ensure optimal imaging outcomes
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions
  • Follow protocols related to medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, quality control programs, and reporting equipment issues
Required Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy and imaging principles
  • Image evaluation and quality assurance
  • MRI equipment operation and electronic imaging systems
  • Contrast administration and protocol knowledge
  • MRI safety and emergency response
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment
Minimum Qualifications
  • ARRT (MR), ARMRIT, or ARRT (R) with MRI cross-training required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
  • IV competency required within 30 days of hire
