Über

The Hertie School's Executive Education department develops customised training programmes for high-profile international delegations and conducts capacity-building and consulting projects for clients in the private, public, and NGO sectors. Projects included, for example: Eastern Partnership (EaP), Executive Leadership Programmes Recharging Advocacy for Rights in Europe (RARE), Strategic Management of HR in the Public Sector, STARLIGHT

To support planning and implementation of our projects as well as our departmental operations we are looking for a Project Coordinator Executive Education (gn) on a full-time basis (40 hours/week), unlimited contract.


  • Responsible for development and coordination of executive customised programmes and open courses across the project lifecycle from acquisition to implementation and project closing
  • Develops course content and design, in coordination with internal and external faculty and experts, primarily in the areas of global public policy, international relations, human rights, international cooperation and development
  • Organises site visits for high-profile executive programmes/delegations both abroad and in Germany in cooperation with federal ministries, parliament, think-tanks, NGOs, etc.
  • Leads on course logistics, events coordination, customer care, and course evaluations with support by Team and Programmes Specialist and student assistants; interfaces with international clients;
  • Assumes overall day-to-day responsibility for a variety of project budgets, contract preparation and administration for all executive programmes
  • Supports department acquisition work, including preparing programme proposals and financial offers for potential clients
  • Partners with internal stakeholders to ensure internal programmatic coordination and quality control for all executive programmes
  • Performs programme related communications work, including drafting and editing texts, social media posts, and website materials in line with Hertie-wide visual identity guidelines

  • Master's degree, preferably in the fields of social or political sciences; international academic and professional background a plus
  • At least two years of relevant professional experience, ideally in international cooperation and development, the public sector, civil society, or a higher education/international research institution;
  • Excellent organisational skills, analytical mindset, pro-active, detail-oriented and efficient work style
  • Knowledge of budgeting and project reporting
  • Excellent time-management skills and a solid understanding of international project management
  • Ability to work with diverse, international and multi-disciplinary teams as well as high-level international clients
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel)
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken) is a requirement for this role; strong German language skills are highly desirable. Additional languages welcome.
