Data Quality Assurance Analyst
The Data Quality Assurance Analyst will have the opportunity to lead and execute data testing efforts from the front-end applications, through all back-end systems, and all the way to the data product layer (dashboards, reports, analytics, etc.). is responsible for providing data warehouses, dimensional data marts and enterprise reports verification and validation as well as designing, documenting and performing data quality checks. requires analytical abilities, creative conceptual thinking, a strong aptitude for data analysis, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Essential Duties: Validate that data systems and flows meet design specifications and requirements by querying the data, creating & automating test cases and executing regression & integration tests Identify data quality scope from system specifications and ensure the right coverage when validating the data against such specifications Determine data quality improvement recommendations as well as process and application improvement recommendations for the source systems Utilize data profiling to uncover data issues and perform rules-based assessments of data Work to develop & support data quality reporting dashboards Evaluate large dataset for quality and accuracy and collaborate with IT/Programmers to correct data quality errors. Research and determine scope and complexity of issue to identify steps to fix issue. Develop and execute data cleanup measures. Maintain a record of original data and corrected data. Ensure adherence to data quality standards. Resolve all internal data exceptions in timely and accurate manner. Play the key role in the data governance processes including data preparation, generation, data obfuscation, data integration, data slicing, and data quality control Communicate the data quality results to QA Management and collaborate closely with other teams involved in the development process The preceding functions are examples of the work performed by employees assigned to this job classification. Skills Required: Experience in data management, data integration and data quality verification Experience in data profiling, database design and implementation Demonstrated proficiency with SQL for creating/modifying queries and scripting. Experience in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimization Clear and concise verbal, written and interpersonal skills including the ability to work in a team Familiar with CI/CD principles and best practices in data processing Analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with initiative and accountability Experience with Automated Testing Tools: Node.js, Angular, ASP.net/C#, Python Skills Desired: Strong experience with end to end data testing &/or data analysis as well as knowledge of best practices & methodologies for data QA Strong experience with scalability, reliability, stress, interoperability, robustness and performance testing. Experience with JSON, CSV, and other data exchange formats Experience with JIRA and Atlassian tools is preferred Experience with qTest is desired Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited college or university Education Desired: Military experience Certification(s), Licenses: Preferred: Current Data Analytics Certification Optional, not required: Current CSTE, CSQA or ISTQB certification Experience: 3 + years' experience in a Data Analytical Role Physical Demands: Standing 1% per day Sitting 80% per day Walking 5% per day Stooping 2% per day Lifting Up 15 pounds unassisted (laptop, testing and office equipment Up to 50 pounds unassisted luggage/laptop when traveling Computer Work 80% per day Telephone Work 25% per day Reading 80% per day Ability to travel unassisted via common carrier up to 25% of the year DSS, Inc. is a Federal Contractor and subject to federal vaccination mandate.
