About the Job
This role is designed for an experienced backend engineer who thrives in fast-moving, high-ownership environments. You'll build production-grade systems that power next-generation real-time user research technology. This is an onsite position with an expectation of 80-100% in-office work.

Design, develop, and optimize backend services, APIs, and real-time data processing systems. Build and scale infrastructure that handles real-time streaming, analysis, and classification. Implement and refine in-house Large Language Model capabilities. Lead project lifecycles from concept through production deployment. Partner directly with founders on technical strategy and product direction. Engage with users to understand needs and continuously improve core functionality.
What You'll Need:
3-10 years of professional software engineering experience building production-grade backend systems Strong proficiency with
Python Experience with
Django Extensive knowledge of
Postgres
or SQL databases Experience deploying and managing services on
AWS Ability to operate with high ownership in ambiguous, fast-paced environments Willingness to work
80-100% onsite in San Francisco
