The Department The is responsible for the administration of the City's information and communications systems and infrastructure. Services include the planning, procurement, delivery, maintenance and training which support the business functions of City departments through technology. The Information Technology department's responsibilities include computer hardware systems, data and telecomm infrastructure, data management, information security, radio and wireless communications, software and applications, telephone and voice systems.
The Position The
Information Technology Analyst - Infrastructure
provides technical support for systems, networks, and applications, ensuring reliable and secure operations. Responsibilities include troubleshooting technical issues, assisting in system implementations, supporting enterprise applications, and maintaining infrastructure to meet departmental and Citywide service needs. This position works closely with senior staff and management, translating user needs into technical solutions, assisting in applications and analytics project implementations, and ensuring continuity of public services. The
Information Technology Analyst - Infrastructure
provides support for the City's network, server, cloud, and database systems to ensure availability and performance of services; assists in administering Cisco networking equipment, including switches, routers, and wireless access points; supports Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Teams, Exchange) and assists with Azure cloud services; monitors system performance and availability; assists with system upgrades, migrations, deployments, and integration projects; and performs related duties as required.

Education and Experience Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills would be: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field; and three (3) to five (5) years of professional experience in information technology infrastructure, systems support, networking or a related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. License and/or Certificates
Must possess and maintain a valid California Class C driver's license. Certifications in Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Azure, Microsoft 365, cloud administration, and security), Cisco technologies (networking, security, wireless, and enterprise infrastructure), virtualization, cloud, and cybersecurity domains as appropriate to infrastructure support, or other related certifications are highly desired.
Ideal Candidate Successful candidates will possess the following:
Strong working knowledge of network administration, including Cisco switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, and VPN technologies; Experience supporting Microsoft environments, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Exchange, Teams, and Azure cloud services; Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across servers, networks, end-user systems, and enterprise applications; Experience with system monitoring tools, backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and IT security best practices; Familiarity with virtualization technologies, database concepts (SQL Server or equivalent), and cloud-based infrastructure support; Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service, communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users, and support multiple departments effectively; Strong critical thinking and sound judgment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing demands; Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues, management, vendors, and City staff through professionalism, collaboration, and trust; and Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth, with a proactive approach to staying current on emerging technologies and industry best practices.

Oral Interview: Weighted 100%
(Tentatively scheduled for March 25, 2026) Department Interviews are tentatively scheduled for the week of April 13, 2026.
The tentative test dates will be based on a sufficient number of qualified applications received by the first review date. If a sufficient number of applications are not received by the first review date, there is the possibility that the test date may change to a later date.
The Information Technology Analyst - Infrastructure
will be required to assist various City Departments as determined by operational needs, including the Police Department. In accordance with the California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS) Policies, Practices, and Procedures, Section 1.9.2, candidates who receive a conditional job offer for this position will be subject to a state and federal fingerprint-based criminal offender record information search. This will include both a Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint-based criminal offender record information search.
Assignment to the Police Department will occur within the first three months of hire.
