Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and organized Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in Columbus, Ohio. This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for tracking stock levels, performing regular cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and implementing inventory control procedures to minimize loss and ensure efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of inventory management systems, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure data accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
  • Manage and maintain inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Monitor stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) to prevent obsolescence.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Coordinate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to ensure smooth inventory flow.
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in the training of new inventory control personnel.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics department.
  • Support warehouse operations during peak periods.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or a related warehouse role.
  • Proficiency with WMS and other inventory software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.
