We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our team in Washington, D.C. In this critical role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and store materials within our warehouse. Your expertise is essential to our logistics operations, ensuring the timely and secure handling of goods. The ideal candidate possesses a strong safety record, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting the overall productivity of the warehouse. Adherence to all safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE and proper forklift operation procedures, is paramount. We are committed to providing a secure and productive work environment. You will work closely with other warehouse associates and supervisors to ensure seamless operations. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move pallets, materials, and products within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and accurately.
- Stack and arrange items in designated storage areas, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues immediately.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements and inventory locations.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as cycle counting.
- Ensure the work area is kept clean, organized, and free of obstructions.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet operational goals.
- Adhere to all traffic control and safety rules within the warehouse premises.
- Support the overall logistics flow of the facility.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of forklift safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and using PPE correctly.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
