Are you an organized and detail-oriented individual looking for a challenging role? Our Austin, Texas branch is seeking a Shipping Clerk to join our dedicated team. This position is vital for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and according to company standards. You will be responsible for preparing shipments, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining shipping records. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to Safety and accuracy in our fast-paced Logistics environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary documentation for outgoing orders.
- Verify that all items in an order are packed correctly and match the documentation.
- Inspect outgoing shipments for damage or defects before they leave the facility.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL carriers) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Operate shipping equipment, such as scales, pallet wrappers, and dimensioners.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update order statuses in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Communicate with other departments, such as customer service and inventory control, to resolve shipping discrepancies or issues.
- Ensure all shipping activities comply with company policies and carrier regulations.
- Adhere strictly to all PPE requirements, including safety vests and gloves.
- Promote a safe working environment by following all Safety protocols and reporting any hazards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a related Logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency with computer systems, including WMS and shipping software.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical exertion, including occasional Lifting of up to 30 lbs.
- Familiarity with PPE and a commitment to safety practices.
