We are hiring a dedicated Picker/Packer to join our growing team in Salt Lake City, Utah. This crucial role involves accurately selecting items from inventory and preparing them for shipment, ensuring our customers receive their orders correctly and on time. Your primary focus will be on efficiency and accuracy within our logistics operations. You will use handheld scanners and follow specific instructions to locate products, verify quantities, and ensure items are packed securely and appropriately for transit. Safety is a core value at our company; therefore, all employees must strictly adhere to safety regulations and wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. This position requires physical agility, the ability to stand for long periods, and proficiency in lifting and moving items. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and works well in a fast-paced team environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick ordered items from warehouse shelves using RF scanners and pick lists.
- Verify product codes and quantities against order details.
- Inspect items for any defects or damage before packing.
- Pack items securely and efficiently using appropriate materials.
- Label packages accurately for shipment.
- Stage packed orders for outgoing transportation.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and stocktaking as needed.
- Meet established performance metrics for picking and packing speed and accuracy.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or picking/packing role is preferred.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and scanning technology is a plus.
- A dedication to upholding high standards in a demanding logistics environment.
