Join our logistics team in Virginia Beach, Virginia, as a Material Handler! We're searching for a motivated individual to ensure the efficient movement and storage of goods within our warehouse. Responsibilities include operating forklifts and other equipment, loading and unloading materials, and maintaining an organized and safe workspace. A commitment to safety, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is paramount. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers efficiently.
- Transport materials to designated storage areas, ensuring proper placement.
- Stack and organize inventory according to warehouse standards.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on equipment.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
- Strictly adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the use of PPE.
- Report any unsafe conditions, accidents, or damaged goods immediately.
- Assist shipping and receiving teams as needed to meet operational demands.
- Participate in inventory counts and stocktaking activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks.
- Valid forklift certification is highly desirable.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods.
- Must be able to perform frequent heavy lifting (up to 60 lbs).
- Solid understanding of warehouse operations and logistics best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
