We are seeking a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Richmond, Virginia. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely dispatch of goods to our valued customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, verifying, and dispatching all outgoing shipments. This includes accurately documenting shipment details, selecting appropriate packaging materials, and coordinating with carriers to schedule pickups. You will also be responsible for maintaining shipping records, processing shipping labels, and handling any shipping-related inquiries or issues. Strong attention to detail is paramount, as is the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with shipping software and a commitment to safety protocols are essential. You will be required to wear appropriate PPE at all times within the warehouse. The role involves some physical activity, including occasional Lifting of packages up to 50 lbs. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company standards.
- Verify shipment contents against order documentation for accuracy.
- Generate shipping labels and maintain detailed shipping records.
- Coordinate with various carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Operate shipping equipment as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, particularly those related to Safety and the use of PPE .
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of Logistics processes.
- Be prepared for moderate physical exertion including Lifting .
