We are seeking a meticulous and organized Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in San Diego, California. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our warehouse operations. Your primary responsibility will be to unload, inspect, and record all incoming goods, maintaining a high standard of inventory management. This role is crucial for the smooth functioning of our distribution center and directly impacts our ability to meet customer demands. You will work closely with various departments, including inventory control, shipping, and operations, to resolve any discrepancies and ensure that all materials are properly processed and stored.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks using appropriate equipment.
- Inspect shipments for damage, shortages, or overages, and document any issues accurately.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS) promptly and accurately.
- Tag and label incoming inventory for proper storage.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially those related to safety and security.
- Must be comfortable with Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Proper use of PPE is mandatory at all times.
- Commitment to workplace Safety is paramount.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a basic understanding of warehouse operations and logistics . Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment is preferred. This is an excellent opportunity to grow within a leading logistics company.
