We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role is crucial for maintaining the efficient flow of goods within our warehouse. You will be responsible for various physical tasks, including moving, organizing, and preparing materials for shipment or storage. The ideal candidate possesses a strong work ethic, pays close attention to detail, and understands the importance of safety in a warehouse environment. You will work closely with other warehouse staff and supervisors to ensure all operational targets are met daily. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to operate equipment safely.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Move materials to and from production areas, storage locations, and shipping docks.
- Stack and arrange materials in designated areas, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.
- Inspect materials for damage and report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Assist with inventory counts and record keeping as needed.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, especially those related to safety and lifting.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily goals and ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics setting is preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) regularly. Familiarity with warehouse equipment. Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures. Must be reliable and punctual. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail is essential for accurate handling of materials. This is a full-time position with opportunities for advancement.
