We are seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk for our Atlanta, Georgia location. This role is crucial for the initial processing of all incoming inventory, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining the integrity of our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to upholding safety standards within a busy logistics environment. You will be responsible for verifying shipments, documenting inventory, and preparing goods for distribution, playing a vital role in our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect all incoming shipments from various suppliers and carriers.
- Accurately compare received goods against purchase orders, invoices, and packing lists, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Document all received items within the inventory management system with precision and timeliness.
- Inspect incoming merchandise for any damage or defects and report issues promptly.
- Label and tag all received products according to established procedures for tracking and storage.
- Organize and stage received materials efficiently for put-away into designated warehouse locations.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments regarding receiving activities and status.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving area, adhering to all company safety guidelines.
- Operate warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks, safely and effectively.
- Ensure the mandatory use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to promote a safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in basic computer operations and data entry.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of safety procedures within a logistics setting.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team.
- Familiarity with inventory control principles is beneficial.
- Must be committed to wearing and maintaining PPE.
