We are looking for a dedicated Distribution Center Associate to join our fast-paced operations in Detroit, Michigan. This role is essential for the smooth functioning of our logistics network, involving a range of responsibilities from receiving and stocking inventory to fulfilling orders and preparing shipments. You will work as part of a collaborative team, ensuring that our distribution center operates efficiently, safely, and in accordance with company standards. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming merchandise against purchase orders.
- Stock inventory accurately into designated warehouse locations.
- Pick and pack customer orders with precision and speed.
- Operate manual and powered equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified).
- Prepare orders for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and packaging.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and cycle counts to maintain accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially those concerning safety and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment and safety procedures.
- Understanding of safe lifting techniques.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently when required.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving within a logistics setting.
