We are looking for an energetic and reliable Material Handler to join our busy distribution center in Orlando, Florida. This role is essential for the smooth flow of goods within our facility, ensuring materials are moved, organized, and readily available for processing and shipment. You will operate various equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to transport items throughout the warehouse. Strong attention to detail is crucial to ensure accurate inventory management and prevent damage to goods. Your primary focus will be on safety and efficiency, always following established procedures and utilizing the required personal protective equipment (PPE). This position involves significant lifting and requires physical stamina to handle materials of varying weights and sizes. Experience in a logistics environment is a plus, and a willingness to learn new processes is essential. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Move materials from receiving to storage locations, and from storage to production/shipping areas.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated areas.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Ensure all materials are handled properly to prevent damage.
- Adhere to all company safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Respond to material requests from other departments.
- Perform routine checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Support the logistics team in daily operations.
- Follow all safety protocols to minimize workplace hazards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a material handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the proper use of PPE.
