Network Engineer
to join a lean, highly skilled technology team within a financial services environment. This role will focus on designing, supporting, and optimizing secure, high-performance network infrastructure. This is a hybrid position based in New York, NY.
Starting at $70/hour.
Network Engineer's Responsibilities and Duties:
Design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure within a financial services environment Manage and troubleshoot routing protocols with a strong focus on BGP Administer and support Palo Alto firewalls including configuration, policy management, and troubleshooting Support Cisco switching and routing across core, distribution, and access layers Monitor network performance and proactively identify issues before users do Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as needed Collaborate closely with a small, tight-knit technology team Communicate technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Maintain network documentation and follow change management processes Network Engineer's Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience as a Network Engineer within financial services or similarly regulated environments Strong routing fundamentals with hands-on BGP experience Extensive experience with Palo Alto firewalls Strong Cisco switching and routing experience Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively on a small team Willingness and flexibility to handle frequent on-call and after-hours work Strong troubleshooting mindset and ability to perform under pressure
