About The Role
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will drive data-driven strategies, lead complex analyses to improve the performance on the Disco network across both advertisers and publishers. You will work on projects that range from developing user-based and contextual signals for targeting and model ranking, to optimizing UI/UX and copy to increase engagement and monetization. This role operates in a high-paced startup environment, requiring proactive ownership, versatility, and close collaboration with product, engineering, and Go-To-Market partners.
Responsibilities
Design and run online experiments (A/B, Bayesian) to improve network performance across ranking, presentation formats, UI, and copy Engineer scalable user and contextual features to enhance targeting accuracy, prediction performance, and auction results Build models and methodologies to analyze and predict advertiser and publisher performance, including treatment effects and lift Build analytics and reporting tools enabling non-technical stakeholders to assess performance, diagnose opportunities, and test hypotheses Collaborate with product and engineering to evolve Disco's identity graph, including integrating 3rd-party data sources Identify and scope opportunities for new experimentation pathways, feature development, and data-driven improvements to marketplace efficiency Experience
Experience: 5+ years of industry experience as a Data Scientist (or 2+ years with a PhD) Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science/Analytics, or related quantitative discipline preferred Experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and Go-To-Market teams; significant ad-tech experience strongly preferred Demonstrated project leadership & ownership, and the ability to tackle highly ambiguous technical and business problems Experience with core Python data science libraries such as pandas, numpy, and scipy Experience with relational databases such as Snowflake, Postgres, and MySQL Strong knowledge of online AB testing and experimentation Strong Bayesian statistics foundation; experience with applying multi-armed bandit methods (e.g., Thompson Sampling) a plus Experience with modern data tooling (i.e. dbt, Dagster) a plus Perks & Benefits

The compensation package for this role is estimated to be in the range of $160,000 to $185,000 in base salary, supplemented by a competitive performance-based bonus target and an equity component. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
Final compensation will be based on the candidate's skills, experience, and overall seniority within the role.
