Lead Senior Data Engineer: We are looking for an enthusiastic Lead Senior Data Engineer who is eager to innovate in the fast-paced technology landscape. This position entails the design, development, and maintenance of data processing architectures and solutions that convert both structured and unstructured data into valuable insights at an enterprise level. As a lead, you will address a variety of challenges, integrating data from internal and external sources using cloud-native platforms and industry-standard software development practices. You will also create advanced software tools leveraging artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data methodologies, enabling us to enhance our services for members. Key Responsibilities: Design and construct applications utilizing the latest data engineering technologies. Serve as the main contact for your team, developing proofs of concept and rapid prototypes utilizing contemporary industry practices. Implement Agile development methodologies for design, coding, testing, and documentation processes. Create strategies and designs for projects in your technical domain, overseeing system upgrades and deployments. Produce new documentation and establish technical procedures for the department. Make informed decisions on moderately complex to complex project components, exercising autonomy with significant discretion. Troubleshoot business and production issues by collecting relevant information, collaborating with support teams, and formulating action plans. Keep up-to-date with technology trends, explore new technologies, and mentor colleagues in the engineering community. Required Qualifications: 12+ years of practical experience in data engineering, including strong expertise in Data Lakes, Event Streaming, and DevOps. 8+ years in software application design, emphasizing best practices and a design-first approach. 8+ years of hands-on experience with Python, Azure Databricks, Pyshark, and Snowflake. Experience in event-based streaming with Kafka, utilizing formats like JSON or Avro. Proficiency in designing and developing cloud solutions on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms is highly desirable. Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams through comprehensive project delivery. Expertise in federated data architectures (e.g., Data Mesh) as well as centralized data models. Strong background in metadata management, data lineage, governance, discovery, and quality assurance. Familiarity with database systems such as Oracle or SQL Server. Commitment to teamwork and a proactive approach in delivering high-quality outputs. Experience in adapting existing applications to incorporate new features while maintaining current functionality. Knowledge of GitHub, GitLab, SonarQube, JUnit, and unit testing through TDD and BDD approaches. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and code quality assessment tools. Possess a test-driven mindset with frameworks like JUnit, SOAPUI, and Selenium. Proficient in Agile methodologies. Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of machine learning frameworks and tools, alongside MLOps. Experience in creating scalable solutions on large distributed databases. Skilled in React or Angular. Familiarity with microservices design and development. Exposure to AI technologies. Work from Home Requirements: For effective remote work, employees must have an internet connection with a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps. Wired cable or DSL connections are recommended, though satellite, cellular, and microwave connections may be acceptable with prior approval. Employees in specific states may receive bi-weekly internet expense reimbursements. Humana will provide the necessary telephone equipment for remote work roles. Ensure a dedicated workspace free of interruptions to protect member PHI and HIPAA compliance. Travel:
Occasional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings may be necessary, although this position primarily supports remote work. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Compensation Range: The estimated salary range for this full-time role is $142,300 - $195,700 annually. Actual compensation may differ based on your location and qualifications. This position is also eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on performance metrics.
