Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company and has been in business for over 100 years. As one of the largest woven textile mills in the world, Valdese Weavers designs and manufactures residential and contract-grade fabrics for furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers.

Overview:
The Systems and Security Administrator is responsible for managing, monitoring, and securing the Valdese Weavers' IT infrastructure. The primary role involves maintaining servers, networks, and security systems to ensure optimal performance and protection against cyber threats. The administrator will implement security policies and patches, troubleshoot system issues, and provide technical support to users. Works closely with Network Administrator/Manager and PC Technicians.. Provides network support and upgrade strategy recommendations to the Director/VP of Information Systems.
Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain servers (Windows/Linux) and enterprise applications. Monitor system performance, ensuring uptime and efficiency. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls. Maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions. Support IT infrastructure, including hardware, virtualization, and cloud-based services. Implement and manage security protocols to protect data and IT assets. Configure firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Monitor networks for security breaches and respond to incidents. Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing. Ensure compliance with industry security standards (ISO, NIST, GDPR, etc.). Continually eliminates any risk points that exist with network/infrastructure and associated hardware, software or applications. Respond to system outages and security breaches promptly. Investigate, document, and resolve IT security incidents. Provide technical support for IT-related issues across departments. Develop and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and best practices. Maintain system documentation, including network diagrams and security configurations. Stay up to date with cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies. Collaborates with Director/VP of Information Systems and other technical staff on remaining current in the areas of Cyber Security and Disaster Recovery specific to the systems and security infrastructure Collaborates with Director/VP of Information Systems on various policies specific to: Hardware, Software, Applications, and Security Perform other duties as assigned Safety:

Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Computer Technology or equivalent required Bachelor's Degree in Computer Technology or equivalent preferred Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT systems administration and cybersecurity Windows and Linux server administration Network Security (firewalls, IDS/IPS,VPNs) Cloud Security Endpoint protection, including monitoring tools Knowledge of CloudStrike, Proofpoint, Palo Alto, and DUO security products is preferred. Backup and Disaster Recovery Planning Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and documentation abilities Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Attention to detail and commitment to security best practices Comfort level working with support vendors with issue resolution and negotiations of support Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others
