We have an exciting opening for a Shipping Clerk in the vibrant city of San Francisco, California. This role is integral to our logistics operations, focusing on the accurate and timely preparation of shipments. You will manage shipping documentation, coordinate with carriers, and ensure all outgoing packages meet company and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and possesses strong communication skills, with a commitment to safety and efficient logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare shipping labels and documentation accurately.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Verify outbound shipments against orders and packing slips.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant parties.
- Ensure all packages are properly labeled and packaged for transit.
- Maintain shipping logs and records.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners regarding shipping status.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of shipments when necessary, ensuring safe lifting practices are followed.
- Support the overall logistics and supply chain functions.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common office applications.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of shipping regulations and logistics processes.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree a plus.
- Physical ability to perform tasks involving some lifting and standing.
