Role Overview: As aDataAnalytics Intern, you will work alongsidethe Governance, Risk, and Complianceteamtodevelop data-drivendashboardsthat enhancerisk identification,operationalefficiencyand strategic decision-making across Sonoco's global business units. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams toidentifyopportunities fordataanalyticand reporting dashboards
Gather data from multiple sources such as SQL databases, Excel files, cloud platforms, APIs, and enterprise systems
Apply time intelligence functions (YTD, MTD, rolling averages, etc.)
Build interactive visually compelling Power BI reports and dashboards
Selectappropriate visuals(charts, tables, maps, KPIs) for different analytics needs
Enabledrill-throughs, tooltips, bookmarks, and slicers for self-service analysis
Analyze trends, variances, anomalies, and performance against KPIs
Document findings, create presentations, and share results with stakeholders
Qualifications Currently pursuing a Bachelor's orMaster'sDegree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related field
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with Python, R, SQL, or similar programming languages
Experiencewith data visualization toolPower BI
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Prior internship or project experience in analytics is a plus
Learning Outcomes: Business Context & Communication - learnhowto translateand communicatetechnical findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
Power BI Report Development & Visualization- learnto design and build interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI usingappropriate visuals, filters, and slicers
Power BI Data Modeling & DAX - learn how to create efficient data models and write basic to intermediate DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for calculated columns, measures, and KPIs
